As we roll into this new year, I have realized that sometimes the things God has equipped us to do can become routine, old news or stale.
This is Not Okay.
STALE: no longer new and interesting or exciting.
For someone who waited 7 years for Marqué to become a reality you would think that I wouldn't ever think of this beautiful ministry as old news. If Im being honest it is really hard for me not to want to start a new project or help another business/ministry get off the ground. I have realized that Satan is really good at keeping us distracted especially when it comes to being faithful to Jesus and His plan. We have to teach our hearts to be content where God has us now instead of running to the next idea or craze. Learning to be still and listening for His voice is the best way to keep focus, to revive your excitement and to continue to dream.
Whatever Jesus has entrusted to you is important and should never be old news. Jesus is working in us and through us all the time. If Jesus is consistently working then we are missing something if we look at our tasks as routine or mundane. Nothing about our lives should be mundane if we are walking with Him. Each step should be an expectant one of "what is He going to do next?"
There are some of you who may be in a rut. Be encouraged. God meets us in our complacency if we ask Him to. He will come and ignite the fire again and put the wind back in our sails.
Forgetting that He already equipped you? Ephesians 2:10 says,
"We are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."
Believing Jesus to revive you and your passion? Isaiah 43:19 says,
"See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland."
Are you the one in the rut? Cling to Psalm 40:1-3 which says,
"I waited patiently for the Lord; He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit out of the muck and the mire, He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in Him."
If you have forgotten you are equipped or believing for renewed passion in your heart or if you are the one stuck in the rut the only answer truly for all of those is Jesus. Jesus and His Word equip us, renew us and pull us out of the slimy pit we may be in.
Allow God to search your heart this week and set your feet back on solid ground.
Believing 2015 is going to be a great year for us all.
